In fact, most people end up giving up as only 8% of people achieve their goals, studies say.

To a certain extent, it is true that setting goals is the easiest part. However, it does not mean that you should rush the process. Learning about the different types of goal is a sure way to setting you up for success.

In this article, I’ll introduce you to the 7 types of goal you can set to get to where you want to be.

Are you ready to achieve all of your dreams by learning about the different types of goals comprised in goal setting?

Table of Contents

  • 1 – Health & Fitness Goals
  • 2 – Self-Development Goals
  • 3 – Relationship Goals
  • 4 – Financial Goals
  • 5 – Business/Career Goals
  • 6 – Fun Goals
  • 7 – Spiritual Goals

1 – Health & Fitness Goals

Health & Fitnesss should be at the top of your list. Why? Because no matter how rich and abundant you are in your life, without your health you have nothing. Although being fit does not necessarily mean being health, these two usually go along.

What goals can you set in order to improve your overall health? How could you increase your energy levels throughout the day? How could you increase your sleep quality?

There are tons of way you could manage to do that, which is why I put ”Health & Fitness” as the foundation for the types of goals you can set.

2 – Self-Development Goals

The purpose of having Self-Development Goals is for you to actually improve the quality of your inner life: namely, your mind.

What you put into your mind is very important, and as much as I hate to say, unfortunately most people put garbage into their mind.

When I set my goals, I always make sure I have some that will allow me to become a better human beings: how to be happier, how to focus, how to love more….

Some things I love to do are: reading, meditating, going through training programs…

You could be healthy on the outside, but unhealthy on the inside. In any case, one never goes without the other. Improving yourself is what’s going to skyrocket the quality of your life.

3 – Relationship Goals

Did you ever imagine yourself in a world in which you are the only one alive? Could you imagine how horrible it must be? Human beings are made to connect with other people, and who would be more important in your life than your little family? Whether it be your partner, your children, your parents or your siblings, we all need connection to be truly fulfilled.

How could you improve the current relationships you have with people in your life? What could you do to make them better? What rituals should you have in your life? When you set goals, always make sure to give that type of goal a try.

4 – Financial Goals

Now that you’re physically and emotionally happy, you need to take care of your finances! The reason I consider the other types of goals above far more important than money is that money without anything else is failure. This is why you should set goals in the 3 other areas before so that your mind and body are taken care of and allow you to make as much money as possible.

Of course, financial goals includes goals like saving money, budgeting, investing… It is the financial aspect of your life.

5 – Business/Career Goals

Business and Career-oriented goals are great to scale the amount of money you’re making. Once you’re making enough money to take care of your basic needs, then you can start focusing on making more and more through a business or your career.

Usually, people are the most creative in this area as it’s often the most easy to think about. When they want to change their lives, people usually think about money.

6 – Fun Goals

It’s important to have fun once in a while. After all, what’s the point in working all the time if you don’t have leisure time?

As much as I don’t like it, we need some short-term gratification goals. These are goals that are going to make you feel instant pleasure, contrary to most goals which would need months of work.

Your fun goals might be related to going out once a week, doing something fun with your friends..

7 – Spiritual Goals

Althought it is last, I believe that spiritual goals are very important. You want to contribute as much as possible and get closer to your creator. The secret of living is giving.

Spiritual goals may include meditation, prayer, giving to charity, volunteering…

There you have it! The 7 types of goals that you need to think about when setting goals. Which one are you lacking more in your life? How are you planning on changing it? Share in the comment below.
