Almost one month has passed since the publication of my ”My 2019 New Year Resolutions” article, and just like I keep preaching it on my blog, it’s time to review the progress that I’ve made and get myself back on track in certain areas of my life.
January has been an experimental month for me, as I decided to use it as an opportunity to tweak a lot of things in my life – including my website.
I would like to add that my ‘My 2019 New Year Resolutions‘ blog post was published on January 16th, which is not exactly one month starting from today (February 13th). However, I want to make sure for the following months that I can publish my reports at the beginning of the month, so this one gets published a little earlier.
Let’s review the goals I set earlier this year:
1 – I will tremendously and easily improve my japanese vocabulary by learning at least 10.000 words by December 31st 2019.
10.000 words/year is about 30 words/day, which means about 900 words a month. However, as previously mentionned, only 28 days have gone by since I’ve publicly declared my goals. As such, I will only make sure that I did learn 30 words/day for 28 days.
This goal is probably the one I’ve been the most consistent with, as I always (besides a few rare times) make sure that I study a certain amount of words each day.
For the month of January, and in 27 days, I’ve learned 601 japanese words (instead of 840).
How can I get back on track?
I noticed that most of the time, I would study my japanese in the evening when my energy level was low, just before I go to bed. From now on, I need to make sure that I study japanese earlier in the day so that I can make the best use of my overflowing energy each day.
How can I make even more progress next month?
It has nothing to do with this goal, but I need to start doing my ‘reviewing ritual’ again. Learning words once is not enough, that’s why I must constantly review them not to forget them.
2 – I will greatly improve my japanese grammar by going through the entire ”A Dictionnary of … Japanese Grammar” series, which consists of 3 huge dictionnaries going from basic to advanced grammar by December 31st 2019.
I haven’t started working on that goal yet. I will probably start next month or so.
3 – ‘I will provide massive value and positively transform people’s lives by publishing at least 3 articles a week on my blog by December 31st 2019.”
I was publishing one article a day from January 16th to January 26th, as my goal at the time was to publish one article every single day. However, as later added in the post, I changed the goal to publishing 3 articles a week. I have since then posted two articles: How To Develop Patience and Negative People Quotes.
I am NOT on track with this goal.
How can I get back on track?
I, unfortunately, spent way too much time on writing and perfecting these two articles. These are by far the best, comprehensive and easy-to-apply articles I’ve ever written, and I want to keep improving them. However, from now on I have to make sure that before I commit myself to any kind of editing, I publish my 3 articles each week.
4 – I will easily complete the 100 day challenge at least once by December 31st 2019.
The challenge is still in progress, and I’m still making progress towards my goals. However, I lost the habit of listening each day to the daily lessons and have fallen behind.
I am NOT on track with this goal.
How can I get back on track?
I will try to listen to the previous lessons, but most importantly, I will listen each day the new lesson and make it a priority.
5 – I will happily read at least 12 books to improve myself and provide more valuable content on my website by December 31st 2018.
I’m on track with this objective: I’ve read my first book of the year.
6 – I will easily perform a morning ritual every morning which will allow me to be at my best every single day by December 31st 2018
I’m on track with this goal most of the time.
7 – I will easily and happily donate at least $500 to help the foundation of free-of-cost Schools for underprivileged children by December 31st 2019.
I haven’t started working on that goal yet.
8 – I will easily have at least 5000 visitors coming on my blog every month (166 visitors a day) by December 31st 2019.
I came to realize how hard it was to start at the bottom and to actually rank well on Google, but I won’t give up. My goal seems distant today, but we’ll see where tomorrow leads us. I’m always investing in myself and learning new strategies to impact the most amount of people. Definitely on track with this goal regarding the process of making it happen.
9 – I will easily finish up writing one big chapter of my novel by December 31st 2019
I haven’t started working on that goal yet.
10 – I will easily optimize my sleep enough so that I won’t wake up more than 2 times each night by December 31st 2019.
I still wake up during the night, but the number of times in which I do varies every single day. I’ve had really good nights and really rough nights. I’m pretty much well-equipped with knowledge regarding how to sleep like a baby by now, I just need to take massive action.
I’m on track with this goal.
11 – I will easily Guest Post at least 3 times on ProjectLifeMastery.com, providing my most powerful and life-changing information by December 31st 2019.
I haven’t started working towards that goal yet. I’m planning on writing my guest post this month.
12 – I will easily write at least one sentence every single day in japanese by December 31st 2019.
I, to be honest, had completely forgotten about this goal. In fact, I either write a lot in japanese, or don’t write at all. Unfortunately, I don’t write most of the time.
Definitely NOT on track with this goal.
How can I get back on track?
Just take massive action.
That’s it for my January 2019 monthly goals list! I’ll make sure that I get back on track with some of my goals and keep taking massive action until the end of year. I think that the key to achieving goals is not to beat yourself up each time you find yourself getting off-track. Just simply acknowledge that fact and move on. Only 11 months left to achieve my goals!
