During my journey, I discovered many tips to live a better life. Although society has led us to believe that life happened to us, instead of for us, there are many ways I can give you to instantly improve the quality of your life.

Of course, the best tips to live a better life I could give you will be long-term strategies. However, it doesn’t mean that you can’t live a better life right here, right now.

In this article, I’ll talk about both psycological and physical ways to improve your life.

1- Take Responsibility For Everything In Your Life

You won’t make progress in your life until you finally take responsibility for everything that happens to you. It’s precisely because taking ownership for all the events around you is difficult that few people engage in it.

It requires you to humble yourself and to admit that you are not perfect and still make mistakes.

However, by admitting your mistakes, you will learn from them. On the other hand, most people choose to blame everyone but themselves, which result in them repeating the same mistakes over and over.

Until you realize that you are the one who created everything surrounding you, you will keep blaming others for not having what you want or think you deserve. Once you make that mindset shift, I can guarantee you that your life will change tremendously.

2- Accept That You Don’t Have Control

You and I are both tiny dusts in this vast universe. No matter what we do, we will never have much control over the oustide world. The world doesn’t need us, and so doesn’t owe us a thing.

Most people, in vain, try to control the outside world by claiming a result they’re after. As a result, most people come up short and lose faith.

For instance, if you were after a certain promotion in your career, you wouldn’t have the last word as to whether or not your goal will be achieved.

However, the fact that you don’t have control doesn’t mean that you can’t influence the decision: this is what it’s about.

The only thing you can really control is your inner world. You can control how you feel, what you say and more. On the other hand, you can’t control the outside world: how the world will react, how the economy will change, etc..

Once you accept that, you’ll be much happier. Only count on you when it comes to results, and how you can change. When it’s something bigger, then count of the influence your acts will have.

3- Keep Learning Every Single Day

If somebody told you that after graduation, you wouldn’t need to study anymore, somebody lied.

In fact, you ‘don’t need’ to study. Most people are living proofs of that. There are no direct consequences if you don’t study, such as a heart attack. However, there are consequences that, unfortunately, few people know.

Fortunately, the fact that you are reading my tips to live a better life means that you are learning.

Tony Robbins once said that: ”If you’re not growing, you’re dying.”

This is exactly what I’m talking about: he, who stopped learning, stopped living. Learning is very important as it’s what makes you grow and allow you to become a better version of yourself.

I’m no dating coach, but I often hear a myth about dating which is: ”I don’t want to use techniques like that, because it’s not me.” Although I would agree that you should not focus on the ‘how’, but more on the ‘why’, it shows that most people have a negative association with growth.

Learning about relationships and dating is not about lying to the other and pretending to be someone that you’re not, no. It’s about becoming a better you.

By constantly learning, you also extend your knowledge which can considerably change your life for the better: I am a living proof of that. Years ago, I didn’t know what I wanted to do and who I was. I wasn’t even happy. Knowledge changed my life.

Wouldn’t you agree to say that learning about your health and how you can avoid – because you can avoid majority of them, remember what I said about taking responsibiliy? – deadly diseases would better your life?

4- Use Your Past Mistakes To Your Advantage

If there’s one common factor between all living creatures, it’s that we make mistakes. The real difference between people who are happy and successful and the others lies after that process.

It’s when you reflect back on them: are you blaming yourself, or are you using it to improve yourself?

There’s no point in making mistakes if you don’t learn from them: after all, you’ll keep repeating the same mistakes over and over.

On the other hand, proactively learning from your past instead of letting it control you will have a much better impact on your life overall.

5- Know Your Ultimate Vision

If you don’t have plans for your life, then you’re going to fit into someone else’s plan.

Don’t follow the mass, unless you really think it’s the right way. I see so many people making the wrong choices just because their parents told them to ‘do so’.

Creating your vision is not about setting goals, it’s about knowing your end goal. Typically, a vision, unlike goals, should be considered for the following 10-20 years. It’s what will allow you to reflect back on your past on your deathbed and be proud of your achievements. There’s no point of taking actions if it doesn’t lead you anywhere: taking action is good, but taking the right action is better.

6- Know Your Goals

It is impossible to speak about tips to live a better life, without mentionning goal setting. As I said in the previous tips, you must first know your vision.

After all, having goals without having a vision would be similar to going on a road trip without knowing the destination.

Unlike your vision, your goals must be sound and realistic, which means that it should be focused on the short-term (1-3 years), whereas your vision should be focused on the long term.

Having a vision is like taking out a map, and marking your end destination, whereas having goals is writing on that very map the best, easiest and quickest way to reach that goal.

Both are very important and will immensely contribute in improving your life.

7- Master Your Health

What good would it do to plan out your life if you were diagnosed with cancer tommorow?

Although as I previously mentionned you cannot control the outside world, such as your genetic, you do have control over what you put in your body and what you do with it.

Of all the tips to live a better life I could give you, this would be the most important one as it is the foundation: without it, everything else will collapse. If you don’t have health, then what do you have?

The wisest move to make would be to learn as much as you can about health. Of course, learning is not enough. After all, knowledge is NOT power unless you apply it. You can know what to do but still don’t do what you know. It sounds crazy but it’s how most people operate.

Health is not only about nutrition. It’s also about excersing, sleeping well, not over-stressing, etc..

Mastering your health is your best ally towards living a better life.

8- Surround Yourself With Positive People

How could you expect to live a better life if everyone around you is bringing you down?

Being positive is not about rejoicing yourself all the time, yelling: ”Yey, I can do that!”, no. What it means, is that you don’t try to bring other people down just to feel better about yourself, which is unfortunatly what a lot of people tend to do.

I’m always reminded of the bucket of crabs story: each time a crab tries to get out of the bucket, there is always another crab to bring it down. ”Nope, you’re staying with us!”

9- Become a Positive Person Yourself

Needless to say, no positive person will want to hang out with you if you’re negative. Just as I said earlier, you don’t want to be neither the crab who will bring the other down, nor the one who will try to escape to bucket alone.

If you are negative and aware of it, I congratulate you, as awareness is the first step towards change.

As long as you work on yourself and change your environment, there is no reason why you won’t be able to live happier.

10- Don’t Take Anything For Granted And Appreciate

The most blatant error couples make is that they take each other for granted. After all, why would you still make effort to please the other if they are already yours? That’s what a lot of people think, and that’s where a lot of people are mistaken.

Anything you have, from your health to your materalistic possessions can vanish in a moment. Once you’re aware of that, then you start appreciating things.

We all should appreciate everything, whether we already have it or not. I’m sure you didn’t even think about it, but did you ever think about appreciating your legs for giving you the ability to walk? No, because it sounds stupid. However, it will make you much happier as you realize that everything you have you can lose in a moment.

Don’t believe me, believe people who went through these horrible scenarios.

11- Have Faith In Your Ability To Succeed

No matter what you want to achieve, from finding your other half to starting a business will require a tremendous amount of belief. Unless you have enough faith to keep failing until it will work, you will most likely not be happy.

Constant failures makes people feel like they’re failures. Although it shouldn’t be how one should view failure, the original problem stems from a lack of faith.

People really fail when they give up. Until then, they’re just receiving feedback. This small mindset shift made a huge impact on my life.

12- Be Grateful For What You Have

As I said earlier, everything you do have today, you can lose tomorrow. Whether it be your ability to hear, to smell, to speak, to think, to walk, to see or to remember… you can always lose something.

In that case, shouldn’t you be grateful for what you have?

This is a very healthy process that made a big difference in my life: that of being grateful. When you start being grateful, you start appreciating things even more and feel happier than before. Being grateful stems from your awareness of the abundance you have in your life.

What you had or lost does not matter, what matters is what you have right now. No matter the scenario, there will always something for you to be grateful for.

Gratefulness is one of my favorite and strongest weapons to change my mood instantly. After all, it’s humanly impossible to be both grateful and angry or sad at the same time.

13- Find Your Soulmate

It might be due to the fact that I’m primarily living in my feminine energy (a concept that states that we all have, regardless of our sex, two energies: masculine and feminine energy) which is about love and connection, but loving is for me the most fulfilling experience.

If you’re looking for the best tips to live a better life, this would easily be in my top 3.

However, a distinction needs to be made: there is both healthy and unhealthy relationships. Needless to say, unhealthy relationships will never give you the life you want.

I expended a lot about my take on relationships in this article : , but you want not only to make sure that you are with someone who is aligned with you in terms of values, but also someone that’s willing to love you even if you don’t deserve it. It is, for me, true love.

These are the 13 tips I can give you to love a better life. Some tips can be applied instantly, whereas some tips need a little bit of work. Of course, the real power of this article lies in your ability to implement it: as long as you don’t implement anything, your life will remain the same.

I highly suggest that you pick one or two ideas that you resonated deeply with, and start implementing right away in your life. As I already said, knowledge is not power unless it is applied.

Being happy is not as difficult as many people try to make it look like, however it definitely requires some work. Even so, isn’t putting more work for the sole purpose of improving your life worth it?
